Dear Friends of the Metro Mounted Unit,

Since its inception in 1999, Friends of Metro Mounted Unit has been assisting the LVMPD Mounted Unit with unforeseen expenses, horse purchases, a horse trailer, as well as specialized training for Mounted Unit Officers. Through the fund raising efforts, “Friends” has been successful in provide anything from bits and dress blankets for the horses to Specialized Mounted Unit training for new Officers in the Unit. “Friends“biggest fund-raiser for the last three years has been the Mounted Unit Obstacle Competition.  The competition involves the community inviting them to “train” their horses and compete against each other on LVMPD Mounted Unit Obstacles actually used to train the Police Horses.
